Bad Sky One, Bad! (Hits satellite dish with newspaper)

I have just watched the season opener to series three of Battlestar Galactica, having raced home after a quick media appearance. This show, a loose remake of the original, is a co-production between Sky and NBC, so it pains me even more that our great nation had a hand in ruining this series.

HOW DARE YOU COPY THE PLOT FROM V!

Tonight we had the Nazi-style occupation, people being rounded up, firing squads, the resistance, the ‘good’ few cylons helping the humans, the tools working for the invading forces and even a sodding star child human/cylon hybrid.

The only thing missing from this was the cylons using us as food – no doubt coming later on.

FFS people, is an original, or even semi-original plot really that difficult to find. I expect this recycling from Hollywood, from you two, producing a big-budget TV show with a great cast, I expected and deserved better.

I am depressed now!

I need a drink!

Have you seen more than the opener of season 3? Because its worth the time. BatGal may seem derivative of V, and other things, but manages, nonetheless, to be awesome, through strong, character-led fiction, stunning visual effects, and interesting, series long story arcs. Give it more than one episode…
