A quick pic of the hire car I had in San Francisco. It’s a Chevrolet HHR.
Having driven it, I can understand why they have never launched it in the UK. Bad handling, dashboard made out of a plastic dustbin and that stuff that holds the sweets in a chocolate box, and a big engine that produces very little power.
But you have to love the retro styling. I think it looks fantastic.

We hired one in Boston and loved it!
was given one by enterprise rental at orlando completely random choice, fantastic car, wife and daughter loved it so much we are going to buy one and import it to the UK, I thought the interior materials were no better or worse than any mid class uk saloon car, it cruised smoothly and quietly at motorway speeds, has lots of luggage space, is reasonably economical and just looks fantastic, especially when compared to the generic euroboxes on british roads, car manufacturers should be congratulated for going out on a limb with designs like this.
