New blogging tool

I’ve played with several client tools for blog posting, as it is not always practical to post straight into a web page (when I’m flying or underground on the Tube for example).

Anyway – all the things I have played with, which have been a mix of Mac OS X Widgets and straightforward client apps have been pretty poor or very unreliable.

I’m now trying out MarsEdit, a Mac shareware app, and so far it’s pretty good. It’s WordPress friendly, which will work well when we’ve moved the IT PRO blogs over, and it seems to mirror all the important features. But the best bits are the Flickr integration and the simplified process or adding images, movies and other downloadable assets.

thanks Chris. Been looking for something cool like this for a while – will have a look. I’m after something WM5 compatible as I’m sick of drafting in word without tags whilst on the tube. PS I’m fairly sure you’re spam catcher is asking me to type the 2 words “that” and “fannie” . . . I’ll give it a go now .

You’ve gotta love that Captcha plugin!

A WM5 compatible blogging app…Hmmm, that’s a tough one. As I’m finding at the moment with all the WM5 and 6 devices I’m reviewing, there isn’t much in the way of good software out there for them.

cheers Chris. Keep me posted if you find something. The best WM5 stuff I use on my phone is Google Maps and Newsbreak – an RSS reader that is very simple and robust, has a today screen plugin and does keywords well. That’s about it. Skype has never worked 100% and the only other thing I wanted (a little plugin to allow me to post links to won’t work as I need to update the .NET Compact Framework and this is crap to do through MIssing Sync (on a Mac like you).
